Bicycle Injuries
According to the NHTSA, 51,000 bicyclists were injured in traffic accidents in the United States and 630 were killed in 2009 alone. Motor vehicle drivers are typically at fault for these numerous injuries and fatalities of bicycle riders. Drivers are busy paying attention to various distraction and neglect to notice there are bicyclists. Many motorist fail to check for bicyclists when changing lanes, driving under the influence of substances, opening doors, running stop signs, pulling out of driveways, parallel parking, or making hasty right turns near a crosswalk. Routine driving experiences can turn into a fatal incident for bicyclists. With all of these incidents and injuries, bicyclists must be protected. However, both parties are unaware of the extent to which California laws protect bicyclists and provide rights to use the streets as well.
In the event of a collision between a bicyclist and a motorist, the California bicyclist has the same right to seek compensation and take action against the injurer as the morotist. For decades, the Law office of Daniel H. Rose has been dedicated to representing those bicyclists in both personal injury and wrongful death claims. We seek to provide bicyclists with their equal rights to the road. Our assertive pursuance of compensation for injures and fatalities caused by negligent drivers is driven by our vast knowledge of the California Vehicle Code and local traffic laws.
